Brand leadership and audience loyalty are the two primary reasons for building a social network. A social network allows the brand to maintain a constant conversation with their audience - communicating important, timely and relevant information to their customers and prospects.
A social network is exactly as stated. It's a "Social Network." It's not an advertising channel and it's not a bull horn. It is a place more to listen and than to speak. It's a place to begin conversations with your prospects and clients.
Social networks can be built at many levels. For example, a family owned restaurant |
can build an active local social network in their own neighborhood or an auto manufacturer can build a social network with world wide communication potential. However, it takes good planning and the time necessary to maintain the plan to have an effective social network.

Planning, establishing and maintaining a social network can be a daunting task. For the novice, just the terminology and the multitude of websites and applications one needs to join or learn can be confusing and prohibitive. The time involved to create a real and loyal following can seem endless and frustrate even the seasoned Facebook or Twitter user without having a good plan and the proper tools to help identify and communicate with your audience.

Yes, there are software tools that can achieve incredible follower counts. However, just because they follow does not mean they are listening or will ever purchase your product or service. Bloated or excessive follower lists serve no purpose and will ultimately complicate accounting and communications. Keep in mind there are no real "get rich quick" applications or "magic bullets" that will make your social network a success. A good plan and hard work will go a long way in this environment.
I provide my clients with creative thinking and original plans and good old fashioned hard work. Please feel free to contact me.
